Our programs
Students & the Rule of Law
Students & the Rule of Law is a peace building platform that takes the Rule of Law to students on high school campuses. On a round table, we engage students and youth into conflict management and prevention participatory discussions.
Our objectives are to improve awareness on the rule of law thereby reducing unlawful behaviour characterize by students and young people.
Promote the values of peace and non-violence behaviour on campuses and homes.
Our Peace education activities promote the knowledge, skills and attitudes that help students and youth either prevent the occurrence of conflict, resolve conflicts peacefully, or create social conditions conducive to peace.
The core values of nonviolence and social justice are central to peace education. Nonviolence is manifested through values such as respect for human rights, freedom and trust. Social justice is realised by principles of equality, responsibility, and solidarity.
In order to achieve these ideals, Students & the Rule of Law goes across Liberia, addresses a wide range of themes: nonviolence, conflict resolution techniques, democracy, disarmament, gender equality, human rights, environmental responsibility, history, communication skills, coexistence, and international understanding and tolerance of diversity.
School A Child (SAC)
School A Child (SAC) is a program aimed at reducing the number of out of school children in Liberia. SAC goes for children who are denied their right to education as a result of different reasons. SAC is driven by the passion for education and the promise of new futures of peace and prosperity that a quality education brings. It is our commitment to children who are out of school to help provide them with opportunities to learn, and as such, is also a contribution to Liberia’s Ministry of Education and the Sustainable Development Goal 5. Currently, we have a total of forty (40) children attending different schools in four Counties. SAC provides scholarship, an education package (uniform, shoes, book-bag, and copybooks). Our vision is a Liberia where every individual has the opportunity to learn through a quality education program. It is indeed is mission to make a major contribution in providing out of school children a full course of quality primary education to break education barriers.
SAC Strategic Objectives
Contribute to the enrolment of at least two (2) thousand out of school children by the end of 2030, and more beyond that timeframe.
Support the development of educational quality so that out of school children who attend school stay in school and have an opportunity to learn.
Mobilize for support to education and develop innovative financing mechanisms to foster program sustainability.
Keep the issue of out of school children at the top of global and national agendas.
Contribute to the development and recognition of the Sustainable Development Goal
You and Your Health
Youth & Your Health is a program that works towards health and wellbeing of people, through promotion of healthy lifestyles and prevention of non-communicable diseases, including mental health and environmental health. It develops and supports evidence-based and effective policies to assure health-promoting environments for citizens.
We achieved through building capacity of youth organizations in the topics of Youth research, Advocacy of effective and comprehensive policies and Behaviour-change strategies that improve young people’s health and wellbeing.
Since its establishment, Field Empowerment Foundation has hosted several conferences, seminars and other capacity-building events. It has conducted research together with young people that has been used to inform policy-making. FiEFOL has amplified the voices of people when advocating for health-promoting policies nationally.
The youth generation is more susceptible to several health problems due to several reasons, including a poor lifestyle.
The youth of today faces a range of health challenges influenced by changing lifestyles. Sedentary habits, excessive screen time, and poor dietary choices contribute to obesity and other health problems. Mental health issues such as anxiety and depression are also prevalent due to academic pressure and digital culture.
Waste Management for Health
Waste Management for Health program contributes to Liberia development agenda to keep Liberia clean and healthy. We work with the Monrovia City Cooperation, Liberia Marketing Association and the Environmental Protection Agency of Liberia.
Liberia’s waste management sector faces tremendous difficulties, due to various factors, including: unclear and over-lapping legal mandates and responsibilities; inadequate institutional framework; poor enforcement mechanisms; extremely weak technical and human capacity within the government sector; low level of public awareness on health as management linkages; and a complete absence of cost recovery mechanisms.
